Pastor's Corner – May 9th, 2024
According to the calendar, this Sunday is Mother’s Day.
According to the loving sacrifices made by women around the world, they deserve honor every day.
If you are like me, you probably had at least a couple of women who shaped your life – your birth mother, a grandmother, an aunt or maybe a teacher. These women collectively nurtured and taught us through the years; and without them, most of us could not have survived.
Now that we are thriving, I challenge you, male and female, parents, and non-parents to grab hold of your Mama Moment.
Perhaps necessity is calling you to step in temporarily to take a few mama duties from a woman who is not physically or emotionally able to fill her role. Or perhaps your mama is struggling in her mental or financial health. If so, remember that giving to your mom is also a moment you shouldn’t miss. A day will come when you look back and wish you had taken the time to nurture and encourage the woman who nurtured and encouraged you through your vulnerable years.
